The Buffalo Bills have a clear path to No. 2 spot in the AFC, but their market confidence is high ahead of their Week 17 home meeting with the New England Patriots who beat them back in Week 7. The Bills enter this divisional matchup on a three-game winning streak and as 12-point favorites.
With playoffs on the horizon and Josh Allen finding the end zone with ease of late, should bettors continue to bet on the quarterback’s legs today for solid plus money?
I break down the NFL odds and offer my free NFL picks for the Patriots vs. Bills on December 31.

The West Brom forward Charlie Austin has urged people to take the coronavirus outbreak seriously, after revealing he has been suffering from acute Covid-19 symptoms.
In the UK, pubs, restaurants and clubs are closing from Friday night, and the pandemic continues to affect everyday life. Sport has been hit hard with postponements, with a number of players and staff already testing positive.

The fixture list can be cruel sometimes. Just as Norwich have given themselves a chance of scrambling out of the relegation places, they are pitted against the Premier League’s top two. Next weekend they travel to Anfield but first Norwich welcome a Manchester City side that have taken 40 points from the last 42 available. At least Dean Smith’s side boast some form of their own with four wins and a draw from their past six league and cup games and will be boosted by the return of Josh Sargent from illness. Norwich also won 3-2 the last time City visited Carrow Road, in 2019. Stephen Hollis

Manchester City have agreed to pay Wolves €55m (£47.25m) for midfielder Matheus Nunes. As part of negotiations with City, Wolves have sealed a season-long loan move for Tommy Doyle, who impressed last season on loan at Sheffield United.
The clubs have inserted an option for Doyle to sign permanently for a cut-price fee of €5m. City could help pay for the deal by sanctioning the sale of the homegrown talent Cole Palmer, who is wanted by Chelsea.

Year Three will be a make-or-break year in Miami for Tua Tagovailoa. While the former Alabama QB has been decent for the Dolphins, he’s yet to lead them to the postseason. There’s absolutely no reason that shouldn’t change in 2022 with how the team has been restructured to focus more on the offensive side of the ball. The NFL on CBS posted this statistic showing the number of 40 plus yard passing TDs for Tua and Odell Beckham Jr. in their careers. OBJ has twice the amount of 40+ yard TD passes than Tagovailoa. Anytime a quarterback stat is used to compare a starting QB to any other position on the field, it doesn’t usually speak highly of the QB in that equation. That’s not a stat to be proud of, but it shouldn’t be a complete indictment of Tua’s ability. And I think we…
Some people consider Trevor Lawrence’s Clemson career one of the greatest college careers of all-time. The man never lost a regular-season game, won a National Championship, and was promptly drafted first overall as soon as he became eligible. However, several other people would say his career paled in comparison to the greatness that was Joe Burrow’s 2019-2020 season, where Burrow completed 76.3 percent of his passes for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns en route to going undefeated and winning the title. Burrow’s importance to the LSU football team only furthered after his departure. Since Burrow left Baton Rouge, LSU has gone just 8-6, a far cry from their 25-3 record with Burrow under center. Burrow and Lawrence faced each other in college once, for the 2020 BCS Championship, wit…
These are exciting times for Name of the Year. Since we spoke to you last, several of our past winners have found themselves back in the headlines. Steele Sidebottom, the People’s Choice in the 2010 contest, recently inked a five-year contract extension with the Australian Football League’s Collingwood Magpies. Hector “Macho” Camacho, the first ever NOTY winner (and, let’s be honest, a minnow compared to today’s contenders), earned a posthumous induction into the Boxing Hall of Fame. Most significantly, 2001 champ Tokyo Sexwale tossed in his legendary name for FIFA’s presidential race, though he later withdrew it. “It’s your problem now,” he said of soccer’s famously corrupt governing body. Sexwale’s waves in the FIFA race prompted many readers to send in his…
